Savitribai Phule Kishori Samridhi Yojana:- In order to promote girls’ education, former Chief Minister of Jharkhand, Mr. Raghuvir Das, initiated the Chief Minister Sukanya Yojana in 2019. However, in 2022, the Chief Minister Sukanya Yojana was modified and renamed as the Savitribai Phule Kishori Samriddhi Yojana. Therefore, currently, girls in the state will not be entitled to the benefits of the Chief Minister Sukanya Yojana as before. Instead, beneficiaries will now receive the benefits of the Savitribai Phule Kishori Samriddhi Yojana.

Under the Savitribai Phule Kishori Samriddhi Yojana, girls will receive financial assistance from the 8th grade through the 12th grade. Savitribai Phule Kishori Samridhi Yojana 2023

The Jharkhand government has launched the Savitribai Phule Kishori Samriddhi Yojana to connect girls in their state with education. Under this scheme, beneficiaries who are studying in the 8th and 9th grades will receive financial assistance of ₹2500, while those in the 10th, 11th, and 12th grades will receive ₹5000. Additionally, once the beneficiaries reach the age of 18, they will receive a one-time grant of ₹20000. This grant can be used by the girls for their higher education or marriage.

Through this scheme, a total of 37 lakh families, including 27 lakh families covered under the SECC-2011 census and 10 lakh Antyodaya cardholder families, will benefit. This means that a total of 37 lakh families’ daughters will be able to receive the benefits of this scheme. The Savitribai Phule Kishori Samridhi Yojana for 2023 will enable girls to continue their education, which will help in curbing child marriage and further promote the “Save the Girl Child, Educate the Girl Child” campaign.

Latest Update: To avail the benefits of the Kishori Samriddhi Yojana, providing a birth certificate will no longer be mandatory.

On Thursday, a cabinet meeting was held under the leadership of Chief Minister Hemant Soren. During this meeting, a significant decision was taken regarding the Savitribai Phule Kishori Samriddhi Yojana. It has been decided that, from now on, girls will not be required to submit a birth certificate when applying for the benefits of the Savitribai Phule Kishori Samriddhi Yojana. Previously, it was mandatory for orphaned girls to attach a copy of their birth certificate along with their application to the Child Welfare Committee under this scheme. However, the government has now decided to remove this requirement to ensure that more girls can benefit from the scheme.

Furthermore, it has also been decided that the beneficiaries will not be eligible to receive the benefits of the scheme if they get married before the legally designated age. In such cases, the relevant documents of the girl’s parents or guardians will only be considered valid in the event of the death of the girl’s parents or guardians.

Information to apply for Savitribai Phule Kishori Samridhi Yojana

To apply for the Savitribai Phule Kishori Samriddhi Yojana for girls, they will need to visit their nearest Anganwadi center and obtain the application form from the Anganwadi worker. This scheme follows an offline application process. Girls can also contact their school, block, Child Development Project Officer, and District Social Welfare Officer’s office to apply. Orders have been issued to the Deputy Commissioners in the state’s districts to provide the benefits of this scheme to eligible girls.   • If the beneficiary girl gets married before the age of 18, she will be declared ineligible for this scheme, and she will not receive the one-time grant of ₹20,000.
