On August 16, 2023, the Central Cabinet approved the PM e-Bus Seva Service Plan, focusing on the use of electric vehicles in public transportation services. Through this scheme, the central government aims to promote the use of electric vehicles in the country. Under the PM-E Bus Seva Yojana, the government has allocated a budget of 57,613 crore rupees, which will be used to operate 10,000 electric buses nationwide. The primary objective of initiating thePM e-Bus Seva Service by the Central Government is to enhance the foundational infrastructure in 181 cities under the umbrella of Green Urban Mobility.
