On August 5, 2021, the Union Minister of Social Justice and Empowerment, Veerendra Kumar, inaugurated the PM Daksh Yojana portal and mobile app. This scheme is also known as the Prime Minister’s Skill and Capability Enrichment Beneficiary Scheme. Through this scheme, free training will be provided to targeted groups, including Scheduled Castes, Scheduled Tribes, OBCs, and sanitation workers.

Question program under PM Daksh Yojana
Up-Skilling/Re-Skilling
- Under this program, financial and digital literacy will be provided to rural workers, sanitation workers, and others.
- Additionally, they will receive training in activities such as pottery, weaving, embroidery, handicrafts, and domestic work.
- This program will have a duration of 32 to 80 hours.
- The cost of training will be limited to the extent of standard cost norms.
- All beneficiaries undergoing training will receive compensation of ₹2,500 as wage loss compensation.
Short-Term Training
- Under this program, various job roles will be defined according to the National Skill Qualification Framework (NSQF) or National Occupational Standards (NOS) issued by MSDE.
- Short-term training, ranging from 200 to 600 hours and spanning over 6 months, will be provided in financial literacy, digital literacy, and opportunities for wage or self-employment, such as tailoring training, furniture manufacturing, food processing, and more.
- The training cost will be limited to the extent of standard cost norms, apart from providing stipends to trainees in the case of non-residential training.
Entrepreneurship Development Program
- This program is designed for young individuals from Scheduled Castes and other disadvantaged groups who have received skill training under the Prime Minister’s Skill Development Scheme and possess entrepreneurial thinking.
- The program’s duration will be 80 to 90 hours or 10 to 15 days.
- The training cost will be limited to the extent of standard cost norms.
- This program will include business officers’ guidance, market surveillance, effective capital, and its management personnel, among others.
Long-Term Program
- Under this program, candidates will receive long-term training in areas that have high demand in the market.
- The training program will be aligned with the National Skill Qualification Framework (NSQF), NCVT, AICTE, MSME, and other relevant standards. Training will be provided in various sectors such as production technology, plastic processing, clothing technology, healthcare, and more.
- The duration of this program will be 5 months or more, extending up to 1 year (1,000 hours).
- The training cost will be limited to the extent of standard cost norms, with stipends provided to trainees in the case of non-residential training.

Objective of PM Daksh Yojana
The primary objective of PM Daksh Yojana is to provide short-term and long-term skills to targeted youth, aiming to enhance their skill levels. Additionally, this scheme will support them in self-employment. The program will enhance the skill levels of workers through up-skilling and re-skilling programs. By obtaining training through this scheme, beneficiaries can increase their income, leading to an improved quality of life. Now, citizens belonging to Scheduled Castes, Scheduled Tribes, OBCs, and sanitation workers will receive training according to their abilities, and they need not worry about financial expenses because this training will be provided free of cost.

PM Daksh Yojana Stipend
Under the reskilling and upskilling training programs of PM Daksh Yojana, if a trainee has an attendance of 80%, they will receive an amount of ₹3,000. For the Entrepreneurship Development Program, if a trainee maintains an 80% attendance, they will be provided with ₹100 per day. For short-term and long-term training programs, Scheduled Caste trainees will receive ₹1,500 per month, while Other Backward Classes, Economically Weaker Sections, and differently-abled trainees will receive ₹1,000 per month.
